Transmission line referendum is misleading

Pine Tree Power is circulating a petition falsely suggesting Central Maine Power and Versant are behind the rate increases in our electric bills. But if you have the standard offer, you’re actually paying two fossil fuel companies for that increase. I encourage my fellow Mainers to look up how the Maine PUC negotiates the cost of our electricity supply each year. You’ll find that the price of natural gas is causing the giant spikes in electricity bills, and the delivery companies like CMP and Versant get none of it.
