Yes, Question 3 would create a politician-controlled electric utility. Pine Tree Power would be comprised of a 13-member board, with a majority being elected politicians. These individuals would serve longer terms than even our governor. In addition, the terms would be staggered so we would be electing members every two years.

Don’t we have enough partisan politics already? Partisanship dominates the headlines every day. The last thing we need is more special interests fighting for control over our electricity. With an election every two years, and politicians in charge, priorities will shift rapidly. This is not good news for a long-term plan to invest in our grid infrastructure.
